ARIA Research is a Sydney based, deep-tech startup developing a world first vision system that delivers a form of high-fidelity spatial perception, analogous in utility to sight. Our mission is to deliver an affordable, scalable, non-surgical solution to the challenges of living with vision disabilities that affect over 338 million people worldwide.

This role is for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our small engineering team.

The role is initially for a 12-month fixed duration.

Required

‍

• Degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in a full-time machine learning role
• Proficient with AI/ML libraries, software and tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Proficient in coding languages such as Python, C, C++, C# and Java
• Proficient in the concepts of Agile and MLOps in software development

• Experience with computer vision and image processing
• Experience working within a small engineering team or startup
• Familiarity with AI/ML inference architectures and hardware
• Familiarity with Unity software, Android OS and AWS Cloud or similar
• Familiarity with XR/VR/AR systems within Unity and/or similar frameworks
• An understanding of development in a structured or process driven environment, such as medical devices or medical software
• Excellent documentation, communication and presentation skills
